Top 3 Valentine’s Day Cocktails to Make at Home

Cocktails, a love story.

Once upon a time somebody created a holiday to celebrate the mythically mischievous cherub and the romantic heartstrings that we all have inside of us. They realised a new celebration of lovey-dovey perfection, rose petals (in slow motion) and white doves fluttering through the air. Valentine’s Day is a beautiful idea with the sweetest intentions…..

But relationships are tough in the modern world. We rely on swipes, DMs and Netflix chill sessions that usually get cancelled because we have to stay at the office late. As we battle through our search for love we face a mishmash of feelings and ups and downs and scorching emotions that leave us gasping for air, and leave us feeling more human than ever. We go through trials and tribulations exploring the balance between passion and self-control, meeting all sorts of people on the way. Luckily we can always rely on the eternally faithful, the ones who are always there for us. Cocktails. It is a relationship you can always rely on!

We can dance with cocktails filled with gin or rum or tequila, or all three if we are recently single. There is a cocktail for every highlight or ice-cream filled depression. There is a cocktail for every time you find “the one” and every time he was just another one. The fresher the breakup the more we hope for a heavy-handed barman, but the stronger the bond the more we hope for a two-for-one special on Long Island Ice Teas. I mean, we all need to have matching colourful cocktails for our couple shots on Instagram.

As Double Dutch is the perfect partner, we want to help out this Valentine’s Day by giving you our favourite cocktails for February 14th. Our selection is easy to make with ingredients you can find anywhere, so there is every reason for you and your partner to treat each other to a fiery night of cocktails at home. Whether you are drinking alone as a happy independent singleton, or a head over heels late twenty-something, you should find something delicious in our Valentines mini menu.

Our selected favourites are easy to make and even easier to drink, as we know there is no need to be overly dramatic for just another day of the year. So take a look below for our take on Valentine’s Day cocktails.
